What could be the reason for the decreased consumption of pickles in India?

Now, let’s see how we got there…

In the culmination of an extensive research journey, our design project introduces a revolutionary pickle container inspired by traditional jars while integrating modern functionality. Meticulously crafted, this container embodies the essence of historical pickle vessels, coupled with a unique feature allowing users to separate and merge oil as desired. Beyond its practical utility, the design prioritizes aesthetics, seamlessly blending into contemporary homes and serving as a stylish addition to dining spaces. The intentional focus on visibility aims to elevate the allure of pickles, sparking increased consumption. Grounded in insights gleaned from in-depth user research and market analysis, this venture not only revitalizes cultural practices but also aligns with current lifestyle trends, offering a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation in a product designed to enhance the culinary experience.

ABOUT PROJECT

“Healthy habits formed in youth make
all the difference in the lives of adults.”

Research

Initial insights were gathered through comprehensive primary and secondary research methods. The exploration commenced with a nuanced examination of diverse pickle varieties in India, delving into their historical roots, health advantages, and pertinent statistics. A thorough investigation encompassed an analysis of prevailing lifestyle trends impacting dietary choices, living habits, interior aesthetics, and the evolving role of technology. Market dynamics were scrutinized, particularly the surge in demand for homemade and chemical-free pickle options. Significantly, user research played a pivotal role, involving shadowing individuals to understand their living spaces, dietary preferences, lifestyle routines, and other contextual nuances, providing invaluable insights into consumer behavior.

User Persona & Empathy Map

Pain Points We Uncovered

To enhance our user research, we organized workshops, providing a collaborative platform for participants to share insights. These sessions proved instrumental in obtaining valuable user perspectives, uncovering nuanced details about preferences, behaviors, and expectations. The interactive nature of the workshops facilitated a deeper understanding, enriching our research findings and contributing to informed decision-making.

Mapping Research Findings

Decoding the Behavior Patterns

Behavioral shifts trigger a domino effect, influencing interconnected facets. This concept is evident in the intricate relationship between social media and lifestyle and dietary choices. The representation underscores how changes in one sphere create a cascading impact on others. Specifically, it illuminates the profound influence of social media and external factors on the evolving landscape of people's lifestyles and food preferences, illustrating a dynamic interplay that shapes contemporary behaviors.

Final Concept

A pickle container with aesthetic appeal to match the exquisite interiors found in contemporary Indian homes, and form that maximises functionality.

Final Form

Indian storages have always been high on utility along with aestetics. The final form was designed keeping this in mind, carrying forward the utility properties and changing contemporary lifestyles and fashion.

Product packaging

Emphasizing sustainability, our packaging integrates materials such as particle boards or recycled paper boards. Careful design ensures not only eco-friendliness but also the optimal display of the product in retail spaces, aligning with our commitment to both environmental consciousness and effective market presentation.

Business Strategy

This business cycle emphasizes a symbiotic relationship between artisans, brands, and customers, fostering a sustainable and equitable ecosystem. By ensuring fair compensation, ethical sourcing, and global market access, it not only preserves traditional craftsmanship but also adapts it to contemporary consumer needs, creating long-term value for all stakeholders.
